I am so happy. We got a sickle mower and square baler yesterday. The trip was quick getting there, but the tires and shear concern of messing up the baler, made the trip back not so fast. Left at 4:30 yesterday afternoon, arrived at the gentleman's farm just before 6:00, left his place about 8:00 and arrived home after stopping for dinner at roughly 11:30. Wow, what a scenic trip. We kept to the back roads and were very fortunate that other no other drivers told us we were number one. At least not that I saw. We kept a fast paced speed of 30 mph, so got to see plenty of scenery. Also, we purchased a tedder on Sunday, which Mark is on his way to pick up now; just down the road. All we need now is a hay rake and we are in business. Not sure how much fun it will end up being, doing it all by ourselves, as I haven't done that since I was a child. I do look forward to getting hay in the barn for the coming winter months though. Here's to hoping everyone has a good and safe baling experience this year, with plenty of hay to last through the season.
