This is the first post I ever made to a message board probably because I never found something that interested me before but White Park cattle now that is right up my alley! I have been breeding these great cattle since 1994. They are a joy to have on the farm. I now have 35 momma cows that will calve this spring and have finally built the heard to the point that I am going to have a production sale this fall. The date is Friday October 3, 2008 at 7:00PM at my families farm in Myerstown, PA. The sale will be held in conjunction with the National American British White Park show that will be held that same day at the Keystone International Livestock Exposition in Harrisburg, PA about an hour from the farm. If you have interest in our sale you can sign up to receive information when it is available at our web site www.wengers.com Thank you for reading my post and thank you to Cedarview Farm for starting the message board! Saturday morning August 9 we took pictures of the 25 heifers and 2 steers that we are going to sell on our production sale on October 3. We worked from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM but we got them all clipped and pictured. There was 5 of us working all day with a short break for some pizza. If you would like a catalog and did not visit our web site to sign up please do. The site is www.wengers.com or if you have questions email me at gwenger@wengers.com Most of you should have received a sale announcement a week or two ago. If you did not you are not on our list and need to sign up or let me know. I know I am biased but you will not regret coming to the sale if you are looking for great cattle. When we had them out one at a time to take pictures they looked fantastic! Glenn

Glenn, Received your sale catalog yesterday...looks great. Appears to be a great set of animals that are seldom for sale at the same time and same place. Looking forward to the sale. Larry

Glenn, Congratulations on a very successful sale. It was a first class event from beginning to end. Good work and very good prices. That sets the price on the farm. Hope you can follow with another sale next year. I expect you will have the details in the next journal. Larry

Thanks to all who attended our first production sale. We estimate that 200 people attended. We registered 39 bidders from 10 states. There was a White Park beef roast enjoyed by all.
We had a very good sale with active bidding. 15 heifer calves averaged $1500 each with the top two selling for $2100 each. The 10 bred heifers averaged $2500 with the top two bringing $3000.
We also raised about $1200 for the association by selling donated items. The star of the donated items was an original painting of White Parks in the pasture painted and donated by Marjorie Hillman from Missouri that brought $550.
What took months to prepare for was over in an hour and 15 minutes.
Thanks to all that attended!
