Jess,
They are looking good. That is a great picture of the one, does it have red ears? I have two red eared heifers this year. I hope they keep growing well for you!

Glenn,
Thanks. We have high hopes for the other bull, he's out of the heifer I bought from Jay (so he's a Rocker grandson.) Unfortunatley, both bulls so far have red ears, the heifer is black. 7 more to go! The rest should be Reliance's.

Hi Jess, Very nice looking calves. Hope they are doing well. Would love to hear some background on the reds if you or anyone else wouldn't mind sharing.

Hello to All!
My daughter, Jess, posted these photos. The red gene is uncommon, but certainly not rare. I relate it to the red that comes out in the Holstein breed. It seems to have no effect on the breed except appearance. Some like it. It adds a uniqueness and brings forth interest. I personally like the standard marking but have seen some red marked cattle I would be happy to call my own!.
Sherry has brought up a topic that I thought deserves a separate thread. I began the thread under genetics.
