I brought a cow/calf pair to the Wisconsin Technology Days for display this week and had a lot of questions on grass fed beef. Since our farm doesn't participate in this I could not answer any of the questions people had on how our breed performs. I was wondering if anyone has any information on this? Trisha

Trisha, I've been doing grass fed beef for several years and have read lots of research stating the human health benefits of eating grass fed beef. Grass fed beef is currently getting alot of publicity and you can find more information that you can read by Googling "Grass Fed Beef". Follows are a few websites I have bookmarked for reference. Also I'm sure Bill & Laura Paine have alot of information since Laura will be speaking on this subject at the annual meeting in September. I thing you will notice is that you have to cook the beef at a lower temperature and typically not as long as grain fed beef. Since it is leaner it will dry out if cooked too long or at too high a temperature. Hopes these are helpful.
