Having experienced a few dry years and some slow pasture growth, I recently discovered Teff Grass. Google has many articles from many locations around the world.
Does anyone on this board or in the wings have any experience with it?
Thanks for any input.

Well, I bit the bullet.
I have an area where I feed round bales during the winter. Weeds like to grow there along with what ever seeds were in the hay. It only amounts to 1/2 to 3/4 acre. So I figured why not try it out. I ordered in the seed because every one I asked said they could not get any. It is expensive seed and very, very tiny. One look at the seed & I knew I did not have the right equipment to plant it.
So I went off to a local TSC and bought a $5 hand held Yuppy seeder. With the gate fully closed, I found that the seed came out at just the right amount.
I worked a fine seed bed, broadcast the seed and some fertilizer, and packed it in. Once over because it needs to be 1/8" to 1/4" deep. The weather outlook is for 3 days of rain so I should be good to go.
My thought as I settle in for the night. Too costly, too much prep, I hope I got it spread evenly enough. It better be good feed!

Steve,
I think we all have those ugly winter feeding spots, let us know how it works for you.

Glenn,
I don't think it was worth the cost. Maybe I should have sprayed it for broadleaves. It got over run with PA Smartweed. Wherethe smartweed wasn't strong, it was over run buy crab grass, which the cows seemed to prefer.
